About Us

ABOUT DAN RIVER CAMPGROUND

Dan River Campground is a beautiful, well maintained campground on 44 acres. The campground is situated along the banks of the Dan River. We have RV sites that have full hook-ups (water, 30/50A electric and sewer), RV sites with partial hookups (water and 30A electric, no sewer), tent sites with partial hookups (water and 20A electric), primitive tent sites and a large primitive tent site group area (scouts, etc). We also have walking trails around and throughout the campground and plenty of amenities to enhance your stay.

Our catch & release fishing pond is stocked with carp, bass and brim/blue gill. The pond water level changes frequently since it is not fed from any water source other than rain. There is always a slight wind blowing across the pond which increases evaporation of the pond water. Evaporation greatly effects the pond water level.

A Word About Security

We take the safety and security of our campground and property very seriously. Trespassing is not taken lightly. We constantly monitor (physically and by video) the property to ensure that the campground is safe and that a level of security does exist for our campers. At the campground office, before you enter the main campground, we have a security gate. This boundary is meant to secure the campground and only allow registered guests entry. Foot traffic beyond the security gate is not allowed unless you check-in at the office and we allow access. If you do not check-in at the office and pass beyond the security gate or other campground boundaries, you are trespassing.

When you check-in, you will receive a key card for the security gate to use while you are camping. When you check-out, please drop your key card into one of our key card drop boxes; one on the office door and the other located on a post (your left-hand side) as you exit the campground . Key cards that are not returned will be deleted from our gate security system and they will no longer function.

Please DO NOT do the following:

Park and leave vehicles in front of the office over night.

If the office is closed, park a vehicle at the office and walk past the security gate.

Let unregistered guests, friends or family into the campground. The office must be made aware of all people coming to visit or camp. Please let us know during Check-In (or call us) so we can make a note of their names.

Enter the campground without permission or registering. This is trespassing.

Golf carts are not permitted to be used and / or operated on the campground premises. Believe it or not, our insurance does not cover the liability of such vehicles, so we cannot permit them to be used.

At Dan River Campground we adhere to “Leave No Trace”.
